Alan Kraus has been interested in trees since his childhood in rural Geauga County. It was here that a young Alan spent countless hours in the nearby forests playing, camping, and hunting.

Having found his calling, Alan dedicated himself to tree care and began the rigorous preparation and study needed to earn his arborist certification. The highly respected ISA Certified Arborist credential reflects his knowledge and passion for tree care and places him among the best of the country's tree care professionals.

Experience

Alan's interest in trees and plants followed him to high school, where he began working part-time in the summers, doing yard work and learning everything he could about plants. After high school, Alan began his professional work with trees.

In 1996, Alan started Independent Tree, a full-service tree care company with homegrown values located in Newbury, Ohio. Alan and his team are committed to the industry, their clients, their team members, the environment, and the Northeast Ohio community.

In addition to his interest in trees, Alan enjoys learning about early American architecture, studying history, skateboarding, and spending time with his family.

Achievements

Alan works hard to keep up to date on arboriculture education so that we can bring our clients the best the industry has to offer. He also conducts educational seminars for various organizations. Alan Kraus helped form the Ohio Independent Arborist Association, OIAA, out of a need for more local arborist education and training.
